Turn the sidewalk in front of your home into a place to relax, gather and take in the beautiful San Francisco scenery. Whether placed carefully next to a street tree or along your property line, sidewalk benches make the space in front of your home a more inviting place.
Sidewalk benches are considered Tier 1 Love Our Neighborhoods projects and require the following steps for registration.
Step One: Check if you are eligible
-
You must be a private property owner registering a sidewalk bench for your own property OR you must be the authorized agent of a private property owner.
-
Commercial or residential renters are not allowed to build Love Our Neighborhoods projects.
-
If you operate a business and are interested in applying for a Shared Space, please visit the Shared Spaces website.
-
You do not need neighbors' approval to install a sidewalk bench in front of your property.
-
Make sure the sidewalk can safely accommodate your bench. Please refer to our guidelines.
